VLC media player can play Standard MIDI File (.MID) and RIFF MIDI (.RMI) files since version 0.9.0. Windows binary builds included MIDI support only in versions VLC media player from 1.1.0 through 2.0.8. Starting from version 2.1.0, support was dropped due to security issues.It was re-activated in VLC 3.0.0. But i have a file called sf2 files with 'materials, sound and models'. Gosh darn, this is so difficult Dx Well, if you have no idea how to, then the best way to acquire the files is to connect to a server IE Glub's server and download the bosses and maps that way. Be warned, it's around 4 gb of content so you may want to do it overnight.

Pick the Right Program
Start by choosing the right program to open your SF2 file. A few of the most common programs used to open SF2 files are listed below. One of them should be able to open your SF2 file.

Note the File Type
Other programs may be able to open your SF2 file, depending on the type of file it is. You can find the file type listed in the file’s properties. On a Windows PC, right-click the file, click 'Properties', then look under “Type of File.” On a Mac computer, right-click the file, click “More Info,” then look under “Kind”.
Tip: If it’s the SF2 file extension, it probably falls under the Audio Files type, so any program used for Audio Files should open your SF2 file.
